The Liberty Series: A group of images I photographed from below deck on a sail boat through a porthole during a violent rain storm and the rainbows afterwards in New York Harbor. These digital images were shot with a Canon point and shot.
Archival pigment print on handmade Sarvisberry Paper, embedded in woven strips of birch, banana, iris, lily, cattail, palm, and canna fibers with eco-print of walnut leaves and vessel made with birch, hemp, calla, kozo fibers; Symbolic image and objects: Statue of Liberty-a beacon of hope, walnut-wisdom, iris-message, canna-love, birch-rebirth, cattail-peace; Snake skin-rebirth, evil, snake skeleton-broken evil, feathers-spiritual elevation to a higher plane; turkey-fertility, pride, abundance, guinea-not all is black and white, woodpecker-intelligence, digging deeper; snake egg- freedom; black coral-strength, white coral- diplomacy, brings peace; oyster shell-awaken from ignorance, wealth, wisdom, beauty, humility.
